COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE REVIEW 2025
Mid Suffolk District Council has given Notice that it has commenced a review of Community Governance is all parts of the district. The purpose of this review is to enable councils and residents to consider what changes are needed to parish arrangements for effective future governance.
Coddenham Parish Council has applied under this review to reduce the member seats from 11 to 9. This will enable council to remain quorate when councillors are unavoidably unable to attend meetings, ensuring that the business of the council can continue uninterrupted. The public consultation period for tihs review ends 19 June 2026 and posters are on the various notice boards around the village and in the shop giving details of how to respond.

Special Responsibilities - Donald has lived in Coddenham since 1985 and has been a parish councillor since 1987. He served as chair of the parish council for 13 years. Now retired, Donald was a professional highways engineer working mainly in the public sector including for Suffolk County Council and National Highways. During his time in Coddenham Donald was part of the teams securing many assets for the community including Broom Hill, Mill Hill, the allotments and the community centre.
Special Responsibilities - Chair. Sarah has been a member of Coddenham Parish Council since May 2022 and is currently the chair of the council. She has lived in Coddenham with her husband, David, since 2008. She is qualified as a solicitor and has worked both in private practice and as in house lawyer in several multinational businesses. Sarah’s interests include traveling, gardening, horses, skiing and paddle-boarding.
