With the appeal by the developer to the Secretary of State failing, Dukes Head appears now to be on the market for sale. Any further developments will be reported on this website and, should any further planning applications be received, they will be dealt with at Parish Council meetings in the usual way.
DECEMBER 2025
The Appeal to the Secretary of State to allow the building of a dwelling on land to the rear of the Dukes Head has been dismissed.
JULY 2025
Following refusal of the latest application to build a single storey residence on land to the rear of the Dukes Head, the developer has appealed to the Secretary of State to reverse this refusal. On behalf of parishioners, the Parish Council has made a strong submission to the Planning Inspectorate supporting MSDC's refusal of the application. In addition, the Parish Council has been putting pressure on the Enforcement Team of MSDC's Planning Department to take enforcement action to ensure the deterioration of the building is arrested and the necessary repairs are made to ensure there is no further deterioration.
